Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA) has strongly criticised the latest industrial action at air navigation service provider Skeyes, stressing that the dispute stems from an internal labour conflict in which the airport is not involved.
BSCA said the disruption affects not only passengers but also airport employees, airlines, businesses operating at the site and the wider Walloon economy. It called on Skeyes management and trade union representatives to resume constructive negotiations immediately and reach a solution as quickly as possible.
The airport described the situation as resembling a “hostage-taking”, with passengers and the entire airport community bearing the consequences of a dispute beyond their control.
BSCA said its priority was to inform and assist travellers. Passengers are advised to monitor the airport’s digital channels, terminal information and communications from their airline for regularly updated guidance.
