Saab and Airservices Australia have signed a new master service agreement that will upgrade tower automation systems at Australia’s four busiest airports—Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. Under the deal, Saab will supply the latest version of its Integrated Air Traffic Control Suite (I-ATS) and keep it continuously updated. The agreement may later extend to additional airports.
Saab will also establish an Air Traffic Management Centre of Excellence in Australia, supporting Airservices’ long-term digitalisation and operational needs. Airservices Australia says the partnership aligns with its commitment to innovation and to ensuring safe, efficient management of air traffic across the 11% of global airspace it oversees.
Saab describes the collaboration as part of its broader shift toward advanced digital solutions in air traffic management and its ambition to support the aviation sector’s future growth.
