Farnborough International Airshow 2026 concluded with its sold-out Pioneers of Tomorrow public day, welcoming families, students and aviation enthusiasts to explore aircraft, technology and career opportunities across the aerospace sector.
Visitors enjoyed flying displays, interactive exhibits and hands-on STEM activities, while the Careers Fair brought together leading organisations including BAE Systems, Babcock, Safran, the Royal Air Force, Farnborough Airport and the UK Met Office to promote careers in aviation, engineering, defence and space.
During the four trade days, aircraft and aerospace agreements announced at the show reached an estimated US$84.7 billion, with around US$14.6 billion expected to benefit the UK through its role in global aerospace programmes. Boeing secured the largest number of firm aircraft orders, with 186 compared with Airbus’ 157, further extending its lead through provisional commitments.
The final day also featured the international debut of the General Atomics AeroTec Systems Do228 NXT, the display of the University of Southampton’s award-winning pedal-powered aircraft, and the launch of Aviation for Good’s first humanitarian aviation projects.
As the 2026 edition drew to a close, the event highlighted both the industry’s strong commercial momentum and its long-term priorities, including innovation, sustainability and inspiring the next generation of aerospace professionals ahead of the airshow’s return in 2028.
