On the morning of Monday, 6 October, an Avion Express Airbus A320 (registered LY-MLK), operating flight HV9009 on behalf of Transavia, departed Brussels Airport bound for Ibiza. Shortly after take-off, while flying over the Ardennes, the pilots decided to return to Brussels due to a technical issue.
Emergency services were on standby as the aircraft landed safely back at Brussels Airport. Transavia scheduled a replacement Boeing 737-800 (registered PH-HBJ), which is set to depart for Ibiza at 12:30 (UTC+2).
The nature of the technical issue has not been disclosed
