Qatar denies intercepting Emirati civilian aircraft
Qatar has denied “completely false” claims by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that its fighter jets intercepted two Emirati passenger planes on route from UAE to Bahrain.
FlightRadar24, which tracks plane movements, said it couldn’t confirm if the incident took place. The data relating to the Emirates flight didn’t show deviation from the standard route, it said.
US Central Command, which is based at the al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, also did not have any report about incidents involving a commercial aircraft in the region, according the Associated Press news agency.
