Far from obvious: many people who disagree with the plan will not go as far as going on strike! Usual story.

The French Government refuses to pour more money into Air France and presses the airline management and the unions to resolve the current stand-off over wages.

The situation looks bleak for the airline: Shares in Air France-KLM crashed as much as 14.5% on Monday (today) after the group's CEO quit over a pay dispute and the French government said it would not intervene to help.

Air France KLM raised its estimate of the impact to the company from a wave of strikes to around €400 million, compared to a previous €300 million estimate.

Air France French unions called on management to resume talks over a pay dispute, four days after the CEO’s surprise resignation sent the strike-hit carrier deeper into turmoil.

Air France pilots said they’re concerned Paris would lose out to Amsterdam if KLM chief Pieter Elbers becomes the first Dutch head of Air France KLM, throwing up another obstacle in the search for a permanent CEO.

How about a strike to prevent this abomination to happen?
