The white A330 at HG41 is one of the ex-CX birds, destined to reinforce the long haul fleet at SN by the end of the year.

Would you prefer the synonymous word "anomalies"? Fine with me: I change right away!

Nope, not at all the reason.
Rehearsal for the defilé of July 21st is the actual reason.
There’s no reason to put aircraft in the holding in the middle of the day without single aircraft on final just because of a certain runway configuration.

what happened at BRU airport ? All the flights on final approach to 07L turned left and went on hold.
And after 15min they are now all heading to RWYs 25... I find this odd... there was no wind at that time...

ok the wind switched to 280 but at the time of the aborted landings there was a light wind from 060. I find it odd to abort two landings (the FR from Treviso was 2miles from the threshold...) but of course I don't have all the data.

Hi Stefanel,

I didn't consider this to be an anomaly so I posted on :

Any idea why SN2721 OO-TCV returned to BRU after an excursion in the Ardennes?

DL81 to ATL and UA973 to ORD are apparently crossing the pond on a much more northern route than the other buddies to and from BRU.

It seems there was a good pump heading North along the North Sea. Also later in the crossing strong headwinds at lower latitudes.

But I doubt that UA973 really went supersonic as claimed by FR24 :

A couple of minutes later she was still in one piece and IAS / M were given as N/A.
That's better.

Sven Nys - a former professional cyclo-cross cyclist - was on board and mentioned same reason just live on VRT.

Probably medical. OO-SND Aerosmurf took off soon after landing in FAO. Now in BRU.

I'm not convinced. FAO is used quite often to get some extra fuel and it takes not too many time, just like diverting for medical reasons. Anyway, we'll see.

I may be pedantic (again), but the airport does not close due to thunderstorms. Ground handling stops, that much is true, but the airport is not closed. Pilots are welcome to fly an approach, or take-off if they want to. However, if they need ground services, they won’t get them until the “Lightning Procedures” have been lifted.
