What are the July figures for brussels airlines AND Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium.
And what is their consolidated market share @ BRU ? Around 45% ?!
TCAB doesn't have a 10% market share for sure haha, I thinks it's about 4-5% at most (full year, so in summer more, in winter I don't think they even reach the 2% looking at past winter season).

Consolidated and considering the charters currently operated by SN for TC as scheduled ops in the future, I would say that you start looking towards 40% market share for SN next year (on an annual basis as you have some seasonality in this as well) .

TCAB should bring 3% marketshare on a yearly basis. That is pretty much in line with RoMax's numbers.

Figures from July are very impressive too! LF above 85%.

Let's calculate the market share! ;-)
It can only be growing:
BRU: +6.9%
SN: +11.3%

The actual market share in July is 876,717 / 2,565,044 = 34.17 %

It would also be interesting to calculate the YTD market share, but if BRU gives a YTD figure of 14,115,986 pax, SN doesn't give a comparable figure and I am too lazy to go through the 7 monthly reports to calculate it ;)
YTD for SN is 5,147,347. So YTD market share is 36.5%. Looks high; are you sure the BRU figure includes July?

Yes. The market share of SN in July and August is lower because many of their planes are used in charter traffic which is not included in their figures.

I'm just wondering why they don't put their Charter figures as well. I'm not that familiar with airline business

I would imagine they don't include them because it's not continuous business. As such, comparing the number of charter flights/passengers from one year to the other has no advantage.

Also, there should be no double counting: the figures of these charters are already in the figures of e.g. Thomas Cook ...

I'm not sure about the exact contracting of all HQ charters and allotments, but at least in part of the cases (if not all) TCAB is not involved and the touroperator contracts the capacity directly from SN. Therefore those guests are charter pax for SN and customers for HQ as the touroperator but not for TCAB. So no double counting in those cases.
There is also a difference with the figures of BAC. While airlines usually apply a few economic rules on their pax reporting (in the case of SN I assume it's now 100% in line with LH Group) such as what to do with charter pax, different degrees of codeshare pax, etc. Especially with codeshare pax it can happen that both the marketing and operating carrier count them in their overall figures as some airlines just report the pax they transported themselves, while other report all those that they got revenue from (so including the ones for which they were merely the 'marketing carrier').

But an airport like BRU just uses purely operational numbers (I think they only exclude the category that they consider non-revenue pax, but not sure), so no double counting there in any case.

You are right. SN had a passenger growth of 11% for august 2017 compared with august 2016. The Passenger Load Factor increased with 2,8%.

825 157 passengers boarded in august. (743 311 last year august). Resulting in a Passenger Load Factor of 85%. Whereas they had 82,2% last year in august. This isn't their record month, since July 2017 was known for 876 717 passengers and a load factor of 85,3%. Only the flights to Mumbay had a backfall (8 475 pax wheras they had over 9 000 passengers in june and july). Yet good work I think.

With SN expanding 11% and BRU only (!) 7.6%, SN is again increasing its market share at its home base. And this without counting the many charters operated for tour operators during the month.

For sure, with the integration of TCAB from October, their charters will be considered as regular flights and the market share will jump ahead!

For August 33.1% (+1 percentage point on 2016); YTD 36.0% (+0.7 percentage point on 2016).

And another month of growth again. Not a double digit but +8,7% compared with septembre 2016 (+72.709 pax). Since the growth of passengers was stronger than the growth of flights (only +0,8% Passanger load factor grew upto 82,5%. If I'm right, thats one of the best results in absolute numbres, or maybe the best. In load factor It's I think the fourth best month. Good work. Just to give antother impression at the end of septembre 2017 SN had 200 000 passengers more than they had in 2014 (january till decembre). Yet for India there is a backfall

BRU hasn't published its own September figures yet; so no SN market share yet.

There has not yet been a press release on the figures, but it is already (hidden ;) ) on their website.

See http://brusselsairport.cmail20.com/t/Vi ... E12DB8921D

It seems BRU had 2.396.571 pax in 09/2017, a growth of 6,1% (or +137.692 pax).

Market share SN 37,0% for September. For the first 9 months it is 36,1% ...

Cheers,
Danny

vs 36.0% and 35.4% respectively for last year.

And the number of pax for SN in September could very well be an all-time high.

Octobre 2017 was again a good month with 865 673 passengers it was the 3th best month since january 2014 (I didn't kept figures before january 2014). This is an increase of 15,1% compared with octobre 2016 wich was already a good month (752 290 pax and a PLF of 75%) this month the PLF grew upto 78,9%. the numbre of flights increased with more or less 3%. Good work
