OO-SFD, A333, 44CCC4, s/n 959, ex B-6502, China Southern.
OO-SFE, A333, 44CCC5, s/n 1010, ex 9V-STF, Singapore.
OO-SFF, A333, 44CCC6, s/n 1132, ex 9V-STD, Singapore.

OO-SFH, A333, 44CCC8, s/n 679, ex B-LAC, Cathay.

All the above reported by FR24 as "BEL". Only SFB is reported as "EWG".

Factual info : a Belgian reg.
remains to see them in SN livery and then I'll start seeing things more positively.

Thanks for correction Konus, I had misread s/n 958 on airfleetnet.

Fresh coffee on hand, new glasses on order.

OO-SFE just landed in BRU after a long flight from Singapore. Does someone know if it is already in the colour scheme of SN/EW? The picture on FR24 shows an old DC7.

Hi all,

I have a more general question on the 'preparation' of the 'new' A330 of SN. The painting is clear and it seems it can be done in many different places (FCO, ...). What else are they doing? On

https://sites.google.com/site/lhgroupfleet/brussels

you can see they are 'preparing' some of them already for quite some time, e.g. OO-SFC in FRA, OO-SFD in HKG ... Are they replacing seats and the interior (but I thought they would only do that at the end of the year with a total new outfit); is it special maintenance ...

Any insights welcome ...

Danny

special checks need to be performed to see if the plane is in the condition they agreed on with the leasing company. Several checklist needs to be followed and that's time consuming :)

I would have expected these checks to be done before the planes get repainted. 8-)

same checks performed when delivering an aircraft, when it's fully painted and everything a team of the airline's engineers come on board to check and adapt the plane according to their standards (there's a YouTube video of Swiss when taking delivery of their 777)

SFE will apparently sit idle for a few months before being introduced to the fleet.
Any specific reason why this is, and whether the same thing will happen to SFD?

SFD's cabin will be cannibalised to refit SFC. SFD will be stored until next winter when the new cabin is going to be installed.

SFE is another story, but I believe the 2 main points are: not enough crew (pilot & cabin, some crews will already by mobilised to operated SFC and it's not like there is a surplus of crews at the moment) and to a lesser extent, the a/c is not in SN "standard" yet (for things like EFB, emergency equipment, IFE, etc).

That's the whole point of the long haul renewal exercise. The "new" aircraft are just arriving a few months too soon.

Does anybody has an overview when the new a330’s enter in service? Because i see a lot of pictures of new arrivals but when will they finally replace the older ones?

and thus they can't simply advance the introduction into the fleet and letting SFM N O go ?

If the new cabin is not ready yet and with very expensive early lease terminations, that's not of much use.

aren't those already for the scrapyard? don't think a new carrier will lease those old birds… but it'll have it's reason why they don't swap them already (most likely for the cabin as it was announced they would introduce a new cabin)
