Is it painting ?
Stickers I think, like VLM at Sabena Aerospace... (Notice behind the flyvlm we can see "Thomas Cook", a bit off topic but it was the only way to talk about it ^^)

It has been published somewhere that the AOC request was filed in November 2017 after a long preparatory work. It must be quite different to introduce a request for an airline flying A340s to intercontinental destinations and the same request for a couple of F-50s flying to neighbouring countries in the EU.

Is there a difference between stickering an aircraft and painting it in term of fuel consumption ? (As these birds will fly very long segments...)

Maybe the first 2 planes will be stickered as there is quite a short term between the receiving of the plane and the start of the operations to paint these planes. If two more A343's are following, they may be painted in the future.

The reasons why the planes are stickered instead of painted would be:

- Time frame
- Cost
- ?

Excellent strategy.Hainan is having very big financial issue and I heard that they owe (460,000,000$...?) a huge amount of money to the national fuel company. Limit for payment is this Friday. There might be some route with a bit less competition soon...(PEK and PVG)

A new Belgian airline—Air Belgium—with backing from a huge Chinese travel agency has received its air operator’s certificate (AOC) and plans to begin flying to China in April, beginning with a service to Hong Kong. The startup has received a leased Airbus A340-300 and expects to have three more before the beginning of the northern summer. Its base will be Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Air Belgium is partly owned by UTour, China’s largest travel agency, ... :o :o

Relevant news, thanks. Their groups will allow them to have a good load factor as from Day 1.

that's how they will fill the planes without selling tickets 6months in advance I guess ;)
so it's close to the LGG story in the end

You're 100% right. They feed their planes thanks to a strong cooperation with a chinese tour operator.
In the first instance will mostly be a charter airline.

I was thinking the same, but I wonder: is the LGG deal still on? Or did they stop?

Just seen the video posted by Amavro.
This is not the Sabena Aerospace hangar, Loods 31, but just across the street in the TUI / JetairPort / Tec4Jets hangar 40.
