EasyJet expects 90 million passengers to be flown in 2018, as it launches flights from Berlin Tegel on 05 January and opens a new base in Bordeaux in March with three A320s. Carrier also expects to link around half of its network to long-haul services through its connections product ‘Worldwide by easyJet’ in 2018.

EasyJet also took delivery of two Bae Avro 146-200s, serials E2055 and E3134, on lease from WDL Aviation (Germany). Surprising!

EasyJet was awarded a new UK AOC. The carrier plans to transfer its UK-based fleet across to this AOC in June 2018 and its Luton-based Group Operations will continue to support all three standalone AOCs in Austria and Switzerland as well as the UK.

EasyJet is not interested in pursuing long-haul LCC operations and will focus on growth in the European market, as it expects there will be fewer companies on the market in three to five years.
