As yet only an unsourced message on an aviation forum - but the poster has a very solid reputation.

It's already confirmed, currently Airbus gets 50,01% of the C series, within 5 years the full 100% will be transferred to Airbus.

And I read somewhere that the A319 program will be stopped for the C-series as Airbus didn't get any order for an A319 during a couple of years already.

In which case the A318 would be discontinued as well, I suppose?

And Boeing is not happy about it. They managed to get the Trump Administration to slap a 300% (!) duty on imports of CSeries aircraft from Canada, but now the CSeries for the US will be assembled at the Airbus plant in Mobile, Alabama.

Bombardier CEO Alain Bellemare expressed confidence that the deal to sell control of the CSeries aircraft division to Airbus will resolve the trade dispute with Boeing.

Boeing says otherwise....

I'm not objective, i love that plane.
But its a super move from Airbus. A superb aircraft for nothing.
And with the plant in Mobile, it may well turn around Trump taxes.
And it has effect down to SONACA.

Airbus sees 20-year demand for aircraft in 100-150 seat market at approximately 6,000 aircraft, a market it will now compete in with the CS100 and CS300.

Airbus to prioritize sales of the CSeries over the A319 while seeking to adapt the model’s key elements for future projects following the tie-up between companies, according to CEO Tom Enders.

Airbus CEO Tom Enders says there are no plans to buy out the rest of the CSeries programme, despite having the option to do so in 2023.

Airbus expects Boeing to try and block the deal.

Killing the potential CS500.
One competitor less for the A320NEO.
A bit sad but logic.
Kill 2 birds with one stone.

Well, given the dire financial position of Bombardier, I suppose they would not have the money to develop the CS500 anyway.

On the other hand, an interesting rumour:

Boeing Is Said to Have Walked Away From C Series Deal: Globe

(Bloomberg) -- Boeing and Bombardier were closing in on a deal for Boeing to take ownership stake in Bombardier’s C Series aircraft before the talks broke off, The Globe and Mail reports, citing unidentified people familiar.
Boeing International president Marc Allen phoned Canadian ambassador to U.S. David MacNaughton in August to say Boeing was breaking off discussions. Exact reasons remain unclear; Boeing said to have told Canadians market prospects for C Series not as strong as advertised
Bombardier declined to comment; Boeing did not respond to request for comment.
