"02 januari 2012: De cargotonnage op de Belgische luchthavens is tussen 2003 en 2010 gegroeid met amper 1,6% en dat was dan nog uitsluitend te danken aan Liege Airport. Dat zegt een nieuw rapport van de Nationale Bank."

I'm trying to find the report of the National bank (hopefully in many languages) ... not that easy
Found this from 2 weeks ago : http://www.nbb.be/doc/ts/publications/wp/wp218En.pdf

I have discovered recently Openstreetmap, which is not another map site.
It follows the same logic as wikipedia, anybody can edit the map and improve it, so just like wikipedia it's quickly becoming the most detailed map around.

Talking about that here, because i recently improved a lot the surroundings of LGG.
Other airports are covered too of course, a bit or a lot, depending if someone had put efforts on it.

Check it yourself (and improve the maps) on http://osm.org/go/0EqivjH9-

Liege Airport, February 13, 2012- January 2012 official figures show a decrease for
cargo traffic at Liege Airport.
In January 2012, 48,341 tons of freight were transported through Liege Airport
compared to 53,653.5 tons in January 2011, which represents a 9.90 % decrease.
Total number of aircraft movements is unchanged for the same period. This shows
how the global economic crisis is affecting air cargo traffic.

They want to create a specific business pax terminal
http://trends.levif.be/economie/actuali ... 567042.htm

A bit crazy when you think how calm the current terminal is ...
But they say there is a real demand for it...

I really wonder who is flying there so often ...

Ethiopian was the best "transfer" for LGG. Of course all that is the result of poor relations between AMS and Ethiopian.
But Dutchmen are of course having a large part of the cake. Go and see at Cargo North, 95% of logistic is in hands of Dutch hauliers, distribution channels.
Even the "Frit kott" is run by MST catering . :| Frikandellen and sour milk for everybody :ugeek:

JAN stats : -9.9 %
FEB stats : -4,38 %
Future : not bright, TNT seems to suffer a lot (mainly because of fuel price they say)

"thinking out loud" mode on :
Since we have night bans in FRA and since CGN has only one track and a lot of UPS traffic, LGG may see an opportunity here ...

exactly my thoughts, HHN is allready the 4th largest cargo airport in Germany and is owned by FRAport.
Liège is not an option in my humble opinion

Besides that, why do you keep saying CGN has only one track?

José Happart, chairman of the board of Liège Airport, is forbidden to enter the airport premises by the ministry of transport, because he is named in too many cases of fraude.
I thought this was a late April Fools joke...
Just in Dutch:
http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/957/Belgie/art ... nnen.dhtml
And in French:
http://www.lalibre.be//actu/belgique/ar ... rport.html

For non-Belgians: don't bother, such a ridiculous situation can only happen in Belgium. Makes me think about Fawlty Towers... :P
