Alitalia is not the only company (not airline, but company) which has translation problems. Either a company hires bad translators (often because they are cheaper) or it has too much confidence in "google translate". Once, the French version of AIr Europa's website was a disaster and there was a time when the French language websites of SN Brussels Airlines and later Brussels Airlines left much to desire. I have the feeling this problem has been largely solved. On Air Europa's Belgian website you can choose between four languages, one of the, however, being "Vlaams" ! Even Air France's website (in French) is also not always flawless. Languages are difficult. So is translating.
I agree that Alitalia's website in Dutch is "om te huilen". Allemaal een mailtje sturen naar Alitalia's "customer service" met de boodschap : the Dutch translation of your website is a disaster. We hope your pilots will not start to fly the way you translate.

It's only since the tie-up with Etihad that Alitalia have been able to use correct English.
