The 2nd Max for TUI has also been build, it will get registration SE-RNA and is going to TUI Fly Nordic.

Oh, and BTW, OO-MAX has been registered in the Belgian register as of today ;-)

Can anyone shed some light? How many aircraft? factory new or not? B737MAX and B787 and...or...? THanks a lot ;)

or they lease the 747 wamos for the season knowing they will need it.

AFAIK there are 4 brand spanking new Boeing 737-8's joining the fleet this year, MAX will be the first arriving tomorrow. There's also an 787 on the horizon but I think this will be a second hand one from one of the other airlines (probably the UK) since TUI has only 787-9's on order and afaik these are going to Britain. So the 787 can be anywhere from 5 to 1 year old.

Indeed second 787 for TUI Belgium will come from TUI UK has mentioned on the TUI Uk fleet wiki and her airways fleet list :

Formerly Thomson Airways
01 Boeing B788-8 for disp 20 - Transfer to TUI fly Belgium

Probably the older one GTUIA-Boeing B788 when the 3th 787-9 has arrived GTUIL-Boeing B789 in march ?

Can we expect the first commercial flight by the end of this week?

Seems they ran out of Belgian & European flag decals at the Boeing factory since they are missing next to the registration

Looking at the pics on the frontpage, is that size of toilet normal? Doesn't seem very comfortable to me, it's soo tiny... Let alone that you can join the mile high club in that space

The flags have been disappearing from all planes since they've become TUI Fly. Sad development, in my eyes...

As far as I know, that's standard in the MAX-layout, to cram even more people into the aircraft.

Oh, didn't know that, thought that the flag was mandatory just like we had a mandatory "B" on our cars way back (if you left the country with your car) (nowadays, the B is part of the license plate)

The plane is called Tenerife Alegria. Its first commercial flight will obviously be to Tenerife. On 5 February, I was told by TUI people.

Sad indeed. The Belgian CAA should make them mandatory.

But since the Belgian planes are said to be interchangeable with those of other countries (especially The Netherlands), a national flag doesn't make sense anymore: TUI is a multinational group.

[[ a bit off topic ]]

As far as I know it is still mandatory in Germany, in Belgium it certainly isn't. Don't know about other countries.

Sai wrote: 02 Mar 2017, 00:33 According to this article (Dutch) the new 737 MAX of TUI fly will have no inflight screens anymore as opposed to their current fleet.
As an aviation enthusiast I really liked to fly them because they have inflight screens on (almost) all their flights, not so for movies, but most of all for the moving map and inflight info.
(...)
Will there be Wi-Fi on board and possibilities to charge your device and/or some kind of inflight entertainment on their 737MAX?
I asked the question and got a reply: Passengers will be able to see the moving map and other IFE on their own devices thanks to an on board server.
I already noticed on the first pics in the Latest News section the USB charging plugs on each seat but...
Can anyone confirm or deny regarding the Wi-Fi, IFE, moving map ?
