Last year a friend of me living at the Belgian coast, who doesn't know anything from planes, saw the jdl turning round and rounds and rounds at our coast to dump his fuel so he could fly back to Brussels. There you have your technical diversion

Right! One turn-back to BRU in 3 years time. For an aircraft that flies 6 days per week. Almost 24/7.

Yeah yeah I already mentioned that in a previous post so I saw it anyways if it's a medical one hopefully the passenger is doing fine.

Not every situation where a plane has to dump fuel before returning back to its base or divert to a nearby suitable airport, is a technical diversion.

Indeed. It was diversion BRU to BRU because of a slat/gear problem. KLM KL-565 Amsterdam-Nairobi (passenger flight 747-400 PH-BFL) is returning to AMS Schiphol at this very moment. The 747 made a U-turn when it was already quite far away from its home base:
