BRU 19/04/2018 - Emirates A380

Post by speedbird1 »

With all the AB excitement, the Emirates A380 visit scheduled for the 19th April seems to have gone away from the forum.
I see it's still in the EK booking engine thus the 1655 departure is still an A380!

Eastern winds are expected for 19/04.
Not sure whether they will be strong enough to dictate a runway change.

Winds are expected to be quite calm atm, so maybe that won't influence rwy usage:

TAF: EBBR 181702Z 1818/1924 09005KT CAVOK

Still cautiously optimistic about the "whale" landing on 25L:

METAR: EBBR 190850Z 15007KT 120V180 CAVOK 22/08 Q1026 NOSIG
TAF: EBBR 190500Z 1906/2012 14006KT CAVOK

As does the BATC website. I guess unless the wind becomes significantly stiffer, 25L should remain the primary rwy for landings.

STD is ... Now !
She seem to be pushed out of B31.

SID?
EK182 of yesterday, 77L, used a C dep, (OLNO?), i.e. left bank soon after take off, barely overflying Brussels, but a four-holer might fly out straight until Anderlecht before heading SW.

A6-EUG managed a nice banking turn out over the city rather than the early left turn.

I wouldn't mind the early left bank as I am not exactly under the 25R T.O. path but a spotting break while working at home is nice for sure.

This beauty is reaaaally quiet. For sure much more than a 74 but even I'd say than the 78s that are more common visitors to EBBR.
Next time I'll take the soundmeter out of its pouch.

Now back to work.
