Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

@Conti764 : I fully agree ! @Poiu : Sorry for the broken record(s). And sorry, you did not like the song in the first place. @Passenger :" Swissair did not killed Sabena. Swissair robbed Sabena ". Yes, indeed. And this robbing was one major part of the bankrupcy, in addition to the fact that Swissai...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

After Swissair killed Sabena (with a few non Swiss acomplices), LH is going to make SN disappear. No more Sabena, no more SN. My cristal ball tells me that even the Africa flights will bear the EW two-letter code (since EW will get a Business class). It matters to CS that SN is not a known brand in ...

Re: Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 news

Extra traffic and revenue for LH. Bills paid by SN. I would assume that the bills will be paid by CityJet in one way or the other. And CityJet might then ask for compensation from Sukhoi. I hope you are right (you probably are, indeed). I don't want to be the one who is always pessimistic, but when...

Re: Sukhoi Superjet SSJ100 news

Sure! They allow stranded pax to travel via FRA on LH. :) Extra traffic and revenue for LH. Bills paid by SN. Didn't we see something similar before ? Well, then it's what we use to call vestzak-broekzak . Both airlines belong to the same owner, so the difference between extra traffic (LH) and bill...

Any support from LH ? (of course not as regards spare parts, but otherwise).

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Only found this in L'Echo (so only in French, sorry) : https://www.lecho.be/entreprises/aviation/les-pilotes-de-brussels-airlines-veulent-le-package-tui/10014744.html In a nutshell : According to the article : - SN pilots would be prepared to accept the same pay/working conditions + perks as TUI pil...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

As quite rightly pointed out on this forum before, Something that you sell, doesn't belong to you anymore and you have no say anymore on what the new owner does with it. In Belgium, we unfortunately live in an "environment" where politicians do not take measures to develop aviation and where investo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

ATW: Lufthansa subsidiary Austrian Airlines does not have strong enough finances to renew its long-haul fleet in the near future, Lufthansa chairman & CEO Carsten Spohr told ATW. “Ten percent of our [Lufthansa Group] aircraft is based in Austria, but only 4% of the group’s profit is generated there...

That's what I said. "Comparing gross salaries is of no use".

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

Comparing gross salaries is of no use. For every worker, be it an unqualified factory worker or a highly qualified worker (like a pilot), the only important thing is always the net salary. You don't buy the groceries and pay your bills with the gross salary. And I'm always cautious with what journal...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

But if you have nothing to lose, why not try? Because you care about the passengers and/or want to do the job for which you're paid? Correct me if I am wrong, but if my memory serves me right, SN pilots (and cabin crew ?) accepted a temporary pay cut of 10% in 2012 until 2018. Well, we are i...

Re: Eurowings in 2018

Christina Förster said: if there is traffic, there will be flights. If there is a sufficient number of passengers at either end of a route, there will be a flight. If you read in between the lines, she means point-to-point traffic ("at either end of the route"). There might not be enough pax for on...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018

The main problem may be that nowadays passengers want to fly to Barcelona or Lisbon for less than the price of a train ticket to the coast.
