An Air Berlin Airbus A320 has ended up in the mud at Sylt airport

This morning an Air Berlin Airbus A320 has overran the runway at the airport of Sylt (GWT)1. The aircraft registered D-ABHO took off Dusseldorf airport at 05:38 (UTC) and landed at Sylt about 40 minutes later, but ended in the mud after the runway. Passengers and crew are all fine.

Sylt Airport (IATAGWTICAOEDXW) is the airport on the German island of Sylt located in the municipality of the same name. It mostly features summer seasonal scheduled traffic to major German cities as well as general aviation and gliding.
