Cargo transport at Chopin Airport increases

Since the beginning of the year 38,420 tonnes have been transported, compared y-o-y to seven months of 2015 it is an increase of 17 percent.

The weight of transported mail in July totaled 1,009.5 tonnes – it is less by about 7 percent than last year. The decrease in weight of transported mail is also visible within the seven months of the current year – 7.883 tonnes were transported, an decrease by approx. 2 percent.

The increase in cargo means that the carriers see Chopin Airport as an important airport in the region. Higher quantities of cargo transported may be a result of the introduction of larger passenger planes in June – B767 of Air Canada Rouge and A330 of Qatar Airways.
