In September, Brussels Airport welcomed 2.4 million passengers, that’s a growth of 6.1% compared to the same month in 2016. Cargo transport dropped with 1.1% in comparison with September 2016.

Passengers

2,396,571 passengers travelled via the airport last month. In comparison with September last year, the total number of passengers rose by 6.1%. The number of departing passengers saw a large rise, with an increase of 6.8% to 929,711 passengers while the number of transfer passengers remained unchanged with 228,744 passengers.

Cargo

Cargo traffic dropped in September by 1.1% compared to the same month last year. But this figure might (and will) go up again after Amsterdam Schiphol capped its flights to 500,000 per year and cargo flights have to move elsewhere (Earlier this week Singapore Airlines cargo decided to move to Brussels Airport)

Additional information on the Brussels Airport September 2017 figures will be published later today.
