At the end of November, there has been a rise in the number of passengers welcomed at Brussels South Charleroi Airport. 551,937 travellers chose Brussels South Charleroi Airport, so an increase of 4% compared to November 2016. Last year, the airport recorded 532,499 passengers in the eleventh month of the year. The average occupancy rate also rose by 3% compared to November 2016, reaching 88% this year.

So the news for Brussels South Charleroi Airport once again is that numbers are going up. This growth can be explained by an increase in the occupancy rate at Charleroi, accompanied by the development of aviation activities, including in particular thanks to the diversification strategy introduced at the airport to boost the range of services offered to travellers.

Italy is the most popular country for flights to and from Brussels South Charleroi Airport. It is followed by Spain, France, Morocco and Poland. Once again, these rankings demonstrate travellers’ fondness for the Mediterranean and Central and Eastern European countries.

The management team is pleased with these results. Jean-Jacques CLOQUET, CEO of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, confirms: “November 2017 was a good month for Brussels South Charleroi Airport. At this stage of the year, we are seeing healthy growth for the whole year. Despite the difficult times we have had, we are continuing to grow and are aiming for an estimated total of between 7.3 and 7.5 million passengers in 2017. We can only thank our passengers for the confidence they have in us, as well as the airlines that continue to grow and increase the range of destinations available from our airport. Wizz Air has also recently announced the launch of a new route to Sibiu, in Romania, starting on 21 June 2018, with three flights a week. We are also incredibly grateful for the excellent work done by all of our employees and partners to make Brussels South Charleroi Airport such a success.”
