New at Berlin-Tegel Airport: Azerbaijan Airlines flies to Baku

Since 2 May 2015, Berlin Airports has been pleased to report a new addition to services available at Berlin-Tegel Airport: Azerbaijan Airlines is now operating a new route from Berlin to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This sum-mer, flights will be available twice a week – always on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On both days, the aircraft depart from the Azerbaijani capital at 7:25am and arrive in Berlin-Tegel at 9:25am local time. The return flight takes off at 10:45am and lands in Baku at 6:40pm local time. The journey takes roughly five hours. Azerbaijan Airlines operates Airbus A319s seating 122 passen-gers on this route.

Jamil Manizade, Commercial Director of Azerbaijan Airlines: “We are de-lighted about the new connection between Azerbaijan and Germany, espe-cially in view of upcoming Baku 2015 – First European Games in June. Berlin is not only an important destination from Baku but is also a significant addi-tion to Azerbaijan Airlines’ extensive European flight network.

Azerbaijan Airlines expands its European route network

Azerbaijan Airlines was established in 1992, is the national airline of Azerbai-jan and has its headquarters in Baku. Its fleet numbers 31 aircraft. Azerbaijan Airlines operates scheduled passenger and cargo flights to Europe, China and within the Middle East. The new Berlin-Baku route represents a further expansion of the airline’s European route network. Berlin is the first German city served by Azerbaijan Airlines.
