In the first six months of this year Antwerp Airport has processed 131,674 passengers, a decrease of 14.5 percent compared to the same period last year when the airport welcomed 154,000 passengers.

Due to extraordinary circumstances last year after the 22 March attacks, 20,000 passengers were transported via Antwerp Airport. Also, VLM Airlines went bankrupt in June last year and the airport lost its connection to Hamburg with Chalair.

Positive signs for the airport: the number of passengers for June 2017 is 3.7 % higher than June 2016, thanks to TUI Fly Belgium, adding capacity on existing routes and opening new routes: four weekly flights to Murcia.

From Antwerp Airport you can currently fly to nine destinations: London City (CityJet), Alicante, Malaga, Barcelona, ??Murcia, Nador, Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Split (TUI fly Belgium). There will be seasonal flights to Sion (PowdAir) and Innsbruck (TUI fly Belgium) at the end of this year.
