Due to a power failure in the Amsterdam region, Schiphol Amsterdam airport was hit with a temporary power outage on Sunday morning (29 April). The check-in processes have been out of use for some time. Due to this failure, the access roads and train to Schiphol were blocked temporary. At 06:30AM check-in systems in all departure halls were up and running again, as a result of this, the airport was reopened and accessible by road and train. Incoming flights will be reduced in capacity between 09:00AM-11:00AM. Outbound flights have no restrictions, but several flights are delayed or cancelled.
The airport authorities tweeted to “check the status of your flight on our website, our app or contact your airline for the most current flight information.”
Exactly two months ago KLM Royal Dutch Airlines experienced a power failure which delayed several flights.
