Saratov Airlines will suspend operations from 31 May 2018 after the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency suspended the airline’s ticket sales. Only three months ago the airline had a fatal crash with an An-148, were 71 passengers and crew members lost their lives.
“On 17 May 2018, Saratov Airlines received a letter from Andrey Kruglov, head of the Transport Regulation Department of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency that our ticket sales will be suspended at the end of this month,” the airline said in a statement. “Hence we have decided to suspend our operations from 31 May 2018.”
A total of 1,200 employees will be dismissed as from 18 July 2018.
