Qantas’ first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fresh from the paintshop

Qantas’ first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (VH-ZNA) just rolled out of the paintshop, back in August 2015 the Australian airline announced the order for 8 Dreamliners.

The first one will be used for Qantas’ domestic network to bring some experience to the crew and staff, four of these Dreamliners will be based in Brisbane, bringing 470 new jobs and opening up new potential international routes. Melbourne-Los Angeles flights are scheduled in December. and non-stop Perth-London flights will start next March.

This one will be delivered from Boeing on Friday 20 October this year, and the first to be based in Brisbane will arrive in mid-2018. The aircraft has not yet received a name, but it will be one of the following:

  • Great Barrier Reef
  • Boomerang
  • Skippy
  • Waltzing Matilda
  • Uluru
  • Great Southern Land
  • Quokka
  • Dreamtime
