PIA flight 756 attacker was hanged today
This according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
On June 24, 2014, PIA Airbus A310-324ET registration AP-BGN performing Riyadh to Peshawar flight PK-756 with 12 crew and 178 passengers during landing approach to Peshawar Airport around 11:00 PM was hit by terrorist gunfire from the ground. The A310 was able to land safety at Peshawar Airport but unfortunately, a female passenger died due to bullet injury. Two cabin crew members received medical treatment for their injuries.
Authorities launched a search operation after the incident, during which 200 were taken into custody. The UAE-based carriers Emirates and Etihad temporarily suspended their flight operations to Peshawar, but both carriers relaunched flights in August 2014.
