Mian Saqib Nisar, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) has stopped Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from rebranding, and applying the new livery. Only last month the airline introduced a new livery with its logo and a design that included a painting of the national animal, the Markhtor, which inhabits in the mountainous regions of Pakistan.
On Sunday PIA’s managing director appeared before the Supreme Court to explain the incurred losses during the past ten years. After the CJP learned that the total expense for a livery change would cost approximately Rs2.7 million (€19,770), the CJP decided to suspend the rebranding of the airline.
