As of 5 May 2015, the German airline Germanwings is offering two weekly flights from Berlin Tegel to Izmir, the Turkish metropolis of millions on the Aegean. The aircraft departs from Tegel on both days – every Thursday and Saturday – at 6.05 a.m., arriving at the airport in Izmir at 10.05 a.m. The flight time is three hours.
Adnan Menderes Airport is 18 kilometres south of Izmir and easily reachable by bus or train. The city offers something for everyone: with its turquoise water and unique beaches and bays, beach lovers can soak up the sun and enjoy the warm temperatures. Culture vultures will be in their element, too, with the many testimonies to ancient times and treasures. While modern shopping malls offer visitors the opportunity to shop until they drop.
