TAP Portugal and Ethiopian Airlines, both Members of Star Alliance, started offering combined code-shared flights between Portugal and Ethiopia.

The new code-share services, built on convenient connections via selected gateways operated by both airlines, are available for travel as of today, November 24, on both carriers’ websites, respectively, flytap.com and ethiopianairlines.com as well as through the Global Distribution Systems.

This new code-share with our Star Alliance partner Ethiopian Airlines fits perfectly with TAP’s strategy to better serve the African Continent. Ethiopian’s expanding network will allow a wide and diverse field of service choices between the hubs of our two airlines, as well as beyond Addis Ababa to destinations in East Africa, thereby contributing to our mission of providing a diverse and convenient span of services to our Customers. It is gratifying for TAP to be able – through an ever growing Star Alliance members’ joint network – to expand and improve the convenience of services offered and benefits provided to those who loyally decide to always travel on TAP”, said José Guedes Dias, TAP VP Alliances and External Relations.

Passengers of TAP and Ethiopian, both Star Alliance member carriers, already enjoy, since December 2011, the loyalty benefits derived from the link between the frequent flyer programs of both airlines.

TAP is therefore proud to announce Addis Ababa as its newest African destination served by means of this new code-share partnership with Ethiopian Airlines.
