An Emirates Airlines flight attendant has fallen from one of the emergency exits at Entebbe Airport this afternoon (15:15 local time). The aircraft, a Boeing 777 (A6-EGU), just landed from Dubai Airport.

In a written statement, Entebbe Airport authorities confirmed the incident and gave some more information: “a female cabin crew member appeared to have opened the emergency exit and unfortunately fell off an Emirates aircraft that had safely landed and parked. Airport authorities immediately engaged emergency procedures and an ambulance rushed the severely wounded flight attendant to a nearby medical facility.

The circumstances are being investigated by the relevant authorities, but everything points to an attempt at suicide.

Although photographs of the incident are going viral, Aviation24.be has decided not to publish them out of respect for the family, colleagues and relatives of the victim.
