It was not the first flight of an airBaltic Bombardier CSeries 300 to Brussels Airport, but this one was a special one: the CS300 was officially inaugurated on the Riga-Brussels route and the press was invited to visit it.

Attending the ceremony were Leon Verhallen, Head of Aviation Development at Brussels Airport Company, Egita Hase, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Republic of Latvia in the Kingdom of Belgium; and Wolfgang Reuss, Network Planning Manager of airBaltic. At the end of the speeches, the three cut the traditional cake in the typical airBaltic green colour.

airBaltic has currently 7 CS300s, with 22 more on order: the fleet will become Bombardier CS300 only. airBaltic flies to Brussels twice a day in codeshare with Brussels Airlines and with Etihad (it also flies to Abu Dhabi with the CS300). The CS300 has 145 seats in a 3-2 configuration.

Despite the late arrival of the plane (45 minutes delay), journalists were allowed to quickly visit it inside.
