On 27 August, an Air China Airbus A330 (B-5958) operated flight CA976 between Singapore and Beijing, China. During turn-around at the Chinese airport – already boarding for her next flight towards Tokyo – a fire broke out in the aircraft’s cargo compartment.
Emergency services rushed to the aircraft, passengers and crew members safely evacuated the aircraft.
Following pictures and videos appeared on social media. Most likely, the aircraft is beyond repair (hull loss), looking at the severe damage to the aircraft’s fuselage.
