Both Flightradar24 and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol mention on their websites that the Surinam Airways flight PY993 from Amsterdam to Paramaribo will be operated by Air Belgium’s Airbus A340-313 registered OO-ABA on 29 March 2018.
It is the first commercial flight for Air Belgium and a good training for their future flights from Brussels South Charleroi to Hong Kong.
Contacted by Aviation24.be, Air Belgium said: “We confirm that this flight will take place between Amsterdam and Paramaribo today. It concerns an ad hoc request from the airline Surinam Airways and we don’t exclude other similar collaborations – first for the first flight to Hong Kong and then for optimiSing the use of our aircraft and crew. Since we obtained our operating licenCe, we have already received several similar requests. ”
Of course, the flight to Paramaribo supposes a ferry flight from Brussels (where the A340 is currently stationed) to Amsterdam. This will take off from Brussels at 13:15 local.
We recommend to follow these two topics for updates on the flight:
